[Geburtstagschoral Balanchine-Strawinsky]

Remarks: According to Craft, Balanchine composed a short melody and a four-line poem in Russian in the form of an acrostic on the name Igor for Stravinsky’s 64th birthday celebrations on 18th June 1946. Stravinsky set the melody as a chorale. Balanchine published the work in the Dance Index 1982; the Gregg Smith Singers performed it on 23rd March 1986 in the Tully Hall in New York.
