Remarks: For the performance of the ballet Le Festin, Strawinsky orchestrated the piano piece Kobold (Op.71, Nr. 3) by Edward Grieg in 1909. Le Festin was premiered at the Parisian Théâtre du Châtelet on 19th May 1990. The ballet is a Divertissement compiled from music by Glinka (Petipa), Tchaikovsky (Goisky), Mussorgsky (Michael Fokine), Glazunov (Goltz) and Rimsky-Korsakov (Kchessinsky). The scenery was by Konstantin Korowin, and the costumes by Alexander Bakst, Iwan Bilibin and Korowin. The Moscow prima ballerina Jekaterina Geltzer was one of the dancers, and it was conducted by E. Cooper. The Divertissement was a Ballets Russes production by Serge Diaghilev and was directed by Serge Grigoriev. Strawinsky’s work remained unpublished.
